There were some problems with cadmium in red glazes in the early 70s… no lead problems in descoware. Lead was more problematic with china than enamelware.
I inherited some of DescoWare a long time ago and packed it away. I wonder if there any cause for concern about lead being used in the enamel?
The pieces I have are a covered 8″ skillet with wooden removable handle, a 3 quart dutch oven with lid and 4 covered 3″ bean pots. They are all white with vegetables around them and I guess they are from around the 60′s.
Anything you can share about my items I’d greatly appreciate.
