I have the small butter warmer pot and lid in the yellow Markley Descorama pattern. I would like to find the base that matches it.

I have 2 pieces of the belgium descoware. My big frying pan? is the dark, reddish orange and I remember my mom,in the 60's,cooking pork chops in it & it had a glass lid I think. It has the gray inside. I dont have the lid and the handle comes loose too. I also have a 1-2 qt saucepan , the bright orange color and the handle came out of that too. I use them both almost every day and my husband was able to fix the saucepan handle by wrapping tin foil around it,as a shim to fill in the spaces. So far it has worked well although I am still careful wth it.
I have about 4 lids to smaller saucepans but no pans. I also have 2 other wood handles that dont fit with either of the 2 pans I do have, but they are worn down too. What I'd really love is the blue pieces. I never knew they existed until I saw them on this site. My kitchen is blue, black and white. I love the cobalt blue colors and have a small collection of cobalt blue depression glass, like butter dishes, salt and pepper shakers & drinking glasses to name a few.
I wish the company would make these again. They'd go over like gangbusters!!!

Hello and thank you for this website. I own a 5.5 litre dutch oven. The enamel finish is mainly brown in two tones; the bottom half of the pot is dark, the top light; the outer edge of the lid is dark, the rest light. The handles on both the pot and the lid are white.

Based on some of the photos you have provided, I am confident that it is a Descoware. The stamp on the bottom of the pot reads from top to bottom: Logo (a superimposed combination of a capital T and a capital E with the middle horizontal line of the E also drawn left of the E's vertical line), M/2-F, 12-26, C, Belgium. The stamp on the underside of the lid reads from top to bottom: Logo, 2F 12, Belgium.

I bought this dutch oven almost 15 years ago from a second-hand consignment store for 10 or 15 dollars. I am wondering how old it might be. Please let me know if you can.

I am also seeking advice with respect to maintaining this piece of cookware. The inside enamel on the bottom of the pot is starting to chip away. There are already two holes the size of dimes where it is gone completely with the cast iron exposed.

Is there any way to repair this damage and prevent further decay? Can it be done at home? (Most doubtful.) Is there a company that specializes in such repairs and is it cost-effective compared to going out and buying a new Le Creuset or Staub? I understand that those two manufacturers offer life-time warranties. Alas Descoware is no longer in business.

Once again, I thank you for receiving my inquiry and I look forward to any information you can give me, cheers.

The pattern is exactly that of a line of porcelain in made by Mitterreich called 'Leaves'. I wonder if it might have been commissioned by them.

The fryer is illustrated in the ad elsewhere on the site, purportedly from 1956, that shows the whole line in yellow (and points to another ad where they're all shown in flame). I'm betting the fryer and a few of the other specialized items shown there (the roaster pan, the segmented shallow baker w/lid) had been dropped by the early 1960s. They don't appear in the hanging-tag flyer that seems to show the whole line.

Items marked 'Belgium' on the base were manufactured in Belgium, unless the Descoware company was breaking U.S. import laws (which I very much doubt).

I can shed a bit of light on dating the waffle-based items, as I bought one in the DC area in late 1974 or early 1975. It's a 2-qt casserole in the deeper yellow, just like the saucepan shown in image #2. The knob is made of porcelain. Mine's been in continuous use since purchase, and the inside is still remarkably white. The bare-iron base makes this line even more useful on the stovetop than original Descoware, IMO.

The color exactly matches Le Creuset 'Dijon' yellow of that era, for what it's worth, but was produced, in Belgium, before the LC takeover.
